Bowl Projections, Playoff Projections and a Jam Packed Two Weeks Left

The final two weeks of the 2014 college football season are upon us and boy what a two weeks it should be.  Both Mississippi State and Ole Miss still have a lot to play for as both still have an outside shot at winning the West, the college football playoff and more.

Alabama’s 25-20 victory over Mississippi State this past weekend gives them the inside track to the West as now they just need to beat Auburn next weekend.

Ole Miss has a gigantic ball game this weekend as they travel to Fayetteville to take on a rejuvenated Arkansas team that now needs one win for bowl eligibility.  Ole Miss needs to win this weekend to keep any hopes alive of winning the west, as a win this weekend sets up a potential winner take all Egg Bowl next week.

NOTE:  State and Ole Miss fans now need to be huge Auburn fans in the Iron Bowl.

Mississippi State hosts Vanderbilt for senior night this Saturday and will be gunning for their 10th win of the 2014 season.

The Bulldogs are hoping they held on to a top four spot in the college football playoff, but will not know those results until tomorrow night at 6:30.

Right now there are several pundits, as always giving their predictions of who’s in, who’s out and who’s on the bubble.

SBNation.com currently has Alabama as the new top team in the country, per the playoff selection process with Oregon coming in at number two, Florida State three and Ohio State fourth.

Per SB projections, Mississippi State has now been slotted for the Orange Bowl on December 31st, while Ole Miss is tabbed for the Citrus Bowl on New Years Day.

All of SBNation’s projections can be seen right here.

Traditionally the last two weeks of a football season means State or Ole Miss or both are trying to make a bowl or jockey for a better bowl, but this year both teams have a ton at stake in the last 14 days of the football calendar.  It should make for one fantastic finish in the Magnolia State.
